KK turns 93

Zambia’s first president Kenneth Kaunda has celebrated his 93 rd Birthday.

Dr Kaunda commonly referred to as KK together others fought for Zambia’s independence in 1964. He is one of the few surviving Independence liberators in Southern Africa.

He ruled Zambia under his United National Independence Party (UNIP) from 1964 to 1991 when he was humiliated by Frederick Chiluba of the MMD.
