Kelvin Mubanga pockets K19,000 as COSAFA Cup best player

Zambian midfielder Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba has been named as the 2022 Hollywoodbets COSAFA Cup Player of the Tournament.

Mubanga was influential for the Copper Bullets on their run to the sixth COSAFA Cup title.

In the semifinals, he was unplayed as he scored and was involved in the other two goals as Zambia edged Senegal 4-3.

Kampamba will pocket R20, 000 (K19,000) for his exploits at the tournament.

Meanwhile, Namibia’s Edward Maova won the Golden Glove as the best goalkeeper.

Eswatini forward Sabelo Ndzinisa won the Golden Boot after he scored three goals in the competition, while Botswana walked away with the Fair Play Award.

Albert Kangwanda’s spectacular extra time goal was enough to secure Zambia a record equalling sixth COSAFA Cup title.
