Katongo donates two sets of jerseys to Luyando

Zambia Women’s national team midfielder Evarine Susan Katongo who also doubles up as the U-20 captain on Wednesday morning donated two sets of jerseys to her club Luyando Foundation Girls.

Katongo who is on loan ZISD is a product of Luyando Foundation Girls and one of the flag bearers of the Chinika based outfit.

The donation will help Luyando Foundation Girls as they prepare for the upcoming FAZ Lusaka Women’s Provincial League.

Katongo was part of the Copper Queens team that beat Malawi 3-2 at Nkoloma Stadium on Tuesday to qualify for the final round of the 2022 Morocco AWCON tournament qualifiers. She came off the Bench to replace Elizabeth Mupeso in the 57th minute.

Katongo was also part of the team that took part and stole the hearts of many fans around the world at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

At U-20 she scored a goal and assisted twice as the Young Queens beat Malawi 8-1 on aggregate to set up a meeting with Ghana in the 2022 Costa Rica FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
