Kampyongo still in detention

ZANIS-Former Home Affairs Minister STEPHEN KAMPYONGO has safely arrived in Chinsali district for his formal charge and arrest for the offence of endangering safety contrary to the Civil Aviation Safety Act.

Mr. KAMPYONGO who arrived at Chinsali Central Police Station at exactly 13:53 hours is detained at the Police station while waiting for his lawyer.

By 17:00 hrs his lawyer GEORGE CHISANGA had not yet arrived in Chinsali District.

Particulars of the offence are that Mr. KAMPYONGO whilst acting together with others allegedly endangered the safety of an Aircraft and its passengers at Kalalantekwe School grounds in Shiwang’andu district on the 2nd of January, 2015.
