Kalumba returns for Napsa

Prisons Leopards first choice goalkeeper Charles Kalumba has been named in the squad which will face Napsa Stars in Sunday’s MTN Super League at Kabwe’s President Stadium.

The highly rated 25 year old shot stopper has been in the treatment room with a knee injury for the past five weeks.

His absence has concided with the Zambia Prisons sponsored side’s poor run.

Early this year, Kalumba featured in friendly matches for Zambia prior to the CHAN tournament in Cameroon.

With Zambia failing to replace the legendary Kennedy Mweene in goal, he is among a group of goalkeepers many Chipolopolo faithful hope will mature into a top international goalkeeper.

Despite poor run of results, the ‘Correct Boys’ are currently 12th on 34 points thanks to splendid work of former coach Mwenya Chipepo.

Chipepo left the Kabwe side for Indeni and was replaced by Congolese coach Balange.

Due to a deep in form, Balange was pushed upstairs to be the team’s technical advisor while former Zambia international Albert Kachinga was thrown into the job to help steer the ship.

Sunday’s opponents Napsa Stars are battling for their Super League status as they are languishing in the relagation zone alongside glamour side Nkana, Kitwe United and Lumwana.

Elsewhere in the league on Sunday, Power Dynamos host Nkana in the Kitwe derby.

Chipepo’s Indeni host Young Green Eagles while Lumwana Radiants are in the capital city with a date against resurgent Green Buffaloes.

Buffaloes have won to the last three matches.
