K40M RELEASED FOR COUNTRYWIDE OXYGEN SUPPLY

By Chansa Kunda- Government has released 40 million kwacha to support oxygen availability countrywide.

Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary Technical Services KENNEDY MALAMA more money will be made available to improve drug supplies availability and maintain medical equipment.

Dr. MALAMA says the Ministry has also received a donation of 3 million kwacha from the Bank of Zambia which will go towards drug supplies purchase.

He told ZNBC News in a statement that the Bankers Association of Zambia -BAZ- has pledged to procure a further 7-hundred and 50-Thousand kwacha worth of Oxygen through the Centre for Infectious Disease Research – Zambia -CIDRZ-.

Dr. MALAMA has since thanked stakeholders for the Multisectoral response as the country grapples with the third wave of Covid-19.

And Zambia has recorded Three Thousand Three Hundred and Sixty-Seven COVID-19 Infections and 50 deaths in the last 24 hours.

The Permanent Secretary said cases recorded are out of 12-Thousand ,9-hundred 52 tests conducted with Central province recording the highest number of cases.
