By Blessing Chibuye

Government has called on Journalists across the country to be objective in their reporting and not divert from relevant matters that can better the lives of the people.

Ministry of Information and Media Permanent Secretary THABO KAWANA says journalists should be committed to serving the public interest with integrity and diligence.

Speaking during the official opening of the Zambia Institute of Mass Communication- ZAMCOM- Investigative Journalism Workshop, Mr. KAWANA said journalists should embrace investigative journalism in order to continue sharpening their skills.

Mr. KAWANA said once journalists harness the power of investigative journalism, they will not only uncover wrongdoings but also contribute to the betterment of  society.

He further called on other strategic partners to continue supporting capacity building in the media industry and collaborate with ZAMCOM.

And ZAMCOM Board Chairperson LEONARD KANTUMOYA reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to grooming upcoming journalists that will better enhance the media industry.

Mr. KANTUMOYA further urged the participants of the workshop to take advantage of the opportunity and contribute to matters that add a positive impact to the society.
