Morocco-based midfield ace Clatous Chota Chama has joined the Chipolopolo Boys camp in Marrakech in preparation for the back-to-back Qatar 2020 World Cup qualifiers against Mauritania and Tunisia.

Chama has expressed happiness with the call-up and opportunity to wear the National colors in next month’s crucial World Cup qualifiers.

The RS Berkane midfielder believes the Copper Bullets need to start with a positive result away so that they can continue the momentum at home when they host the Carthage Eagles.

“It’s an honor, I want to thank God for making this possible. I also want to thank the technical bench for giving me this privilege to be part of the team, it’s an honor for me, and am looking forward to doing my best,” he said.

“We are starting away and it’s very important to start in a positive way where we try to get maximum points. We will see how we will approach the game, it’s all about what the coach wants and require from the team, and am sure that’s what we are going to plan for and try to execute as we go into that match.”

” These qualifiers we have six games in total and when you start away and on a positive note it gives you an advantage and morale when you play at home,” he added.

Coach Beston Chambeshi has also included youngsters like Jimmy Mukeya, Miguel Chaiwa, and Prince Mumba in his team. Chama was also quick to advise the youngsters to do their level best to help the team.

“My message to the youngsters is that they should embrace this opportunity, it’s something that helps each one of us grow especially in our career. I’m sure it’s a dream come true for them, so they need to embrace this opportunity by being attentive to what the coach wants and what the team requires. They are not here to just watch and feel that they can’t contribute but they should contribute where necessary and do their level best,” he said.

The home game will have 5,000 fans and Chama has asked them to keep the faith in the team and continue supporting them.

“It’s good that they have allowed several fans to be in the stadium, am sure most fans have missed being in the stadium and cheering the national team. My message is that they support us, pray for us and continue keeping their faith in the team, and as we approach these games we look forward to impressing our fans and our football-loving country.

Zambia will be away in Nouakchott on September 3 before hosting Tunisia four days later in Ndola in back-to-back Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The match will be played at the 40, 000 capacity Stade Olympique de Nouakchott in Nouakchott.

The Chipolopolo are in Group B with Tunisia, Mauritania, and Equatorial Guinea.

Group winners will join nine other teams on the continent in the final qualifying round that will see teams paired in two-legged knockout ties.

The five winners will qualify for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
