Police keeping vigil outside Komboni Radio, one of the closed private media houses

The Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) has lifted the suspension of Itezhi Tezhi Radio’s liscence.

The IBA has announced this at a briefing in Lusaka, saying the station had shown remorse for airing a programme that was inciting violence.

But when asked about Muvi TV and Komboni Rafio, the IBA said their hands were tied as the matter was before the courts.

Meanwhile some reports indicate that police have been withdrawn from Muvi TV premises.
