It was a tough game. – Sikombe

Zambia national soccer team on Wednesday evening qualified to the quarter-finals of the 2020 African Nations Championship (CHAN) Tournament after drawing nil-all with Namibia. The point picked was enough to see Zambia into the knock out stage.

Lusaka Dynamos midfielder Collins Sikombe was voted as the match of the match. Sikombe told the ZamFoot Crew after the match that it was a tough encounter. Sikombe also expressed delight to be named as man of the match after having an impressive performance.

“The game was just okay though tough because Namibia wanted a good result as well,” he said.

“I want to thank God for allowing me to be named as man of the match, without God there is nothing,” he added.

Zambia will now face defending champions Morocco on Sunday 31st January and Sikombe described the encounter against Morocco as fair and promised to work hard and follow the instructions from the coach.

Zambia will now shift camp from limbe to Doula, one of the hottest cities with a temperature range of 31-33 degrees at the pick.

“The game against Morocco is okay,  we just have to work together as a team and follow the instructions from the coach,” he said

“The hot weather condition won’t be a problem to us because we are used already, we did our first training there before we came here.”

Zambia finished second in Group D with five points, the same as Guinea who had a better goal difference. The Chipolopolo will face Group C table-toppers Morocco on Sunday at the Stade de la Reunification in Douala while Guinea will play Rwanda in Limbe.

The Chipolopolo boys will now shift base to Doula ahead of Sunday’s clash.
