President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says Cabinet has resolved that any investments in chiefdoms should benefit the surrounding communities.

President HICHILEMA says this is the only way development will be fostered in rural areas.

He says the resolution was made during yesterday’s cabinet meeting.

President HICHILEMA disclosed this when he addressed mourners at the burial of Senior Chief Museli in Kalumbila District.

He said government is aware and concerned with the conflict between Trident Limited, formerly Kalumbila Mine, and the surrounding community in Museli Chiefdom.

The Head of State said  he wants the community and the investors to live in harmony for the development of the country.

President HICHILEMA said he will be returning to Kalumbila District to resolve outstanding issues between the mine and the community.
