INVEST BACK HOME, URGES KAPIJIMPANGA

 

Zambia’s High Commissioner to India JUDITH KAPIJIMPANGA has urged Zambians resident in India to invest back home.

She was speaking in New Delhi, India, during a Virtual Meeting with Zambians resident in India organised by Zambia High Commission in India and Zambia Development Agency -ZDA.

Mrs. KAPIJIMPANGA praised Government over a pending Statutory Instrument that would reduce investment threshold from 500 Thousand Dollars to 100 Thousand to attract more viable investors.

Meanwhile, ZDA Director General MUKULA MAKASA said Zambia needs investment to actualise the Industrialisation Agenda.

Mr. MAKASA said this was important to create jobs for the 18 million Zambians in priority sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure, energy, tourism and mineral processing.

And ZDA Investment Promotions Officer BANJI MULEYA said opportunities for Public Private Partnerships -PPPs- exist at the Jubilee Real Estate which had 16 hectares of land in Lusaka.

Ms. MULEYA said PPPs were available at the University of Zambia Great East Road Campus to build student hostels and staff houses which enrolls 20 Thousand students against the 8-thousand bed space.

And a Zambian Resident in India, MUKAYA SIMUBALI thanked the Zambia High Commission in India and ZDA for the initiative to engage Zambians to encourage them to invest in Zambia.
