INDIAN INVESTOR PLANS TO BUILD MULTI-SPECIALIST HOSPITAL

By Ruth Chayinda-A renowned international hospital has started talks with Zambia High Commission in India to build a multi specialist hospital in Zambia.Bombay Maternity and Surgical Hospital Surat Director Ajoy Bhattacharya says he is ready to use private capital for the exercise.Dr. Bhattacharya says the latest technology coupled with reputed Indian doctors can help Zambia to address challenges such as neurology, orthopaedics, gynaecology, oncology, paediatrics, urology, E.N.T. among others.He said this when Zambia’s High Commissioner to India Judith Kapijimpanga toured the hospital in Surat City in the Indian State of Gujarat, 2,000 km away from the Indian Capital New Delhi.And Zambia’s High Commissioner to India Judith Kapijimpanga says Zambia is spending huge resources to refer patients abroad.She said the Mission is working tirelessly to ensure that an Indian investor builds a hospital in Zambia to provide specialised services such as lung, heart, kidney, liver transplants and cancer.Mrs. Kapijimpanga said a specialist hospital would be ideal to cater for Zambia and the eight neighbouring countries.
