Inauguration ceremony restricted to invited guests only

Brian Mwale-Government has restricted attendance to President elect HAKAINDE HICHILEMA’s inauguration slated for Tuesday to only invited guests as part of observing Covid-19 preventive protocols.

Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Services Permanent Secretary AMOS MALUPENGA has however advised citizens who will not be invited to attend the ceremony to follow the proceedings of on television, radio and online social media platforms.

Mr. MALUPENGA has further encouraged invited guests to arrive early to facilitate for security screening procedures.

He says the gates to Hero Stadium, venue for the inauguration, will open at 06:00 hours and close 30 minutes before commencement of the ceremony.

Mr. MALUPENGA says invited guests should be seated by 07:30 hours.

He says the ceremony is in-line with the Constitution.

Mr. MALUPENGA adds that further details pertaining to the inauguration ceremony will be communicated in due course.
