The Chipolopolo midfield ace joined the Austrian Bundesliga side in 2017 from Kafue Celtic after helping the Zambia U-20 national team list the 2016 COSAFA U-20 tournament and the U-20 AFCON.

Mwepu says he feels at home in Salzburg and likes the city and the nature that surrounds it.

The ‘Computer’ is however not yet very fluent in the German language but knows the basics and just needs to practice more.

“So I really feel at home here in Salzburg. But that is also made very easy for us in our club because we are all one big family. I also like the city and nature, the mountains and the lakes around Salzburg and I am very grateful to be here. My German is not really good yet. When it comes to soccer vocabulary, I’m quite good, but I just don’t speak enough German in everyday life. I just have to practice more with Patson, “Mwepu told the club’s official website.

In December last year, Mwepu extended his contract with Salzburg and will stay at the Redbull Arena until 2024.

“As I said, I feel completely at home here in Salzburg and I owe a lot to this club. I also know that I can continue to develop here and that we still have great goals together. This year we saw the anthem in the Champions League on the grass for the first time. And that makes you want more! ”

The former Napsa Stars midfielder has become a reliable and important player in coach Jesse Marsch’s set up. In the 2019/2020 season, he has played 32 games in all competitions scoring 3 goals and contributed 7 assists.
