HONOR KK BY PROMOTING LOVE AND UNITY

 

By Clinton Masumba -Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet PATRICK KANGWA has urged Zambians to promote the principles and values that first President Dr. KENNETH KAUNDA stood for.

Speaking during the funeral service in Ndola at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, Mr. KANGWA said Dr. KAUNDA tirelessly championed Peace, love and Unity a legacy which should bind Zambians together.

He observed that Dr. KAUNDA built a legacy in different sectors of the economy among them Health, Education and Mining among others which resulted in Job and wealth creation for Zambians.

Mr. KANGWA said Dr. KAUNDA ensured the mines were run successfully and benefited Zambians through massive investment.

Meanwhile, Dr. KAUNDA’s first born son lieutenant Colonel PANJI has thanked Zambians in the manner they continue to mourn the former President.

Col. KAUNDA said Dr. KAUNDA fought for peace, love and unity which should be upheld.

He has challenged current leaders to play their role in safeguarding peace.

Col. KAUNDA has further urged traditional leaders to play their role in ending tribalism in the Country because that is what Dr. KAUNDA fought against.

And in his homily, United Church of Zambia -UCZ- Bishop ALBERT BOWA urged Zambians to honor Dr. KAUNDA by maintaining peace in the Country.

Bishop BOWA further said those in politics should put a stop to acts of violence and allow the Country’s hero to be put to rest in peace.

Meanwhile, speaking on behalf of Traditional Leaders, Senior Chief CHIWALA said Dr. KAUNDA has left a legacy of unity in the Country.

And Copperbelt Permanent Secretary BRIGHT NUNDWE said Dr. KAUNDA will be remembered for his legacy of building infrastructure that is still standing today.
