Hockey national team preps advance

Bernard Nkweto-The Zambia Hockey Men’s National Team has advanced its preparations for the All Africa games qualifiers to be held in Zimbabwe this month end.

ZAMBIA will compete against Zimbabwe and Malawi for two slots at the All Africa Games Championships that will be staged in Ghana next year.

Forward Star, FLOYD CHOMBA says preparations are going on well and has expressed confidence of the team’s qualification.

In an interview with ZNBC Sports in Lusaka, CHOMBA says the team is expecting a tough challenge as they come up with opponents that are eager to qualify also.

And, Midfielder JOSEPH MUBANGA has disclosed that the team’s preparations have been affected by lack of finances and have called on Government and other stakeholders to come to their aid.

Meanwhile, South Africa, Nigeria, Egypt, Kenya, Uganda and hosts Ghana, have qualified to the Championships.
