HIGHLIGHTS: Kangwanda’s goal of the season contender, a Mbesuma’s esque & his other 9 league goals

Kafue Celtic striker Albert Kangwana is a having good season in the Zambian Super League.

The 22 year old has already hit double figures with goals, and over the weekend, he scored arguably one of the goals of the season in the 3-2 defeat to Kansanshi Dynamos.

Kangwanda took his tally to 11 goals, that is 3 off Friday Samu.

With Samu having trekked to South Africa, it seems like Kangwanda will battle it out with Red Arrows’ Ricky Banda.

Banda has scored 9 league goals and the 20 year old has gone on level with Alex ‘Bazo’ Ng’onga and Jimmy ‘Beleki’ Ndhlovu of Nkana and Kabwe Warriors respectively.

Zanaco’s Moses Phiri is the only player on 8 goals.

The quartet Martin Njobvu [Green Buffaloes], Conlyde Luchanga [Prison Leopards], Lubinda Mundia [Buildcon] and Godfrey Ngwenya [Power Dynamos] are on 7 goals.

Ten of Kangwanda’s goals have come from open play.

He has scored once from the spot kick and a header while two came from his weaker foot.

The rest of his goals are all from his favoured left foot.

Kangwanda opens the scores against Power Dynamos with Collins Mbesuma esque

Together with Banda, Kangwanda is expected to earn call ups to the Chipolopolo ahead of the friendly matches against Bafana Bafana next month.
