HH URGES YOUTHS TO CREATE JOBS

President HICHILEMA urged youths to take advantage of the increased Constituency Development Fund -CDF to create jobs for themselves and others.
He said government is concerned with high unemployment levels hence promoting entrepreneurship, a move from offering handouts to youths.
The Head of State called on citizens to embrace hard work and ensure excellence in whatever they do.
The President also called for support towards purchase of local products and services saying they are key in job creation.
President HICHILEMA revealed that Zambia is making progress in promoting consumption of local products as evidenced with the increase in certification of local suppliers from 33 to 47covering over 500 products.
The President also expressed happiness that Zambia’s democracy has continued to be a shining example on the continent and the country is respected on the continent.
He said the new dawn administration is committed to set a level playing field where democracy will thrive and political parties will fight on ideas ad was the cased in the Kabwata by elections.
President HICHILEMA also noted that all desks for schools should be produced locally as the number of school children continues to rise amidst provision of free education.
And, President HICHILEMA said the new dawn government is determined to uphold good governance, fight corruption, strengthen the rule of law and prudence in management of public resources.
He said corruption takes away from the vulnerable in society and appealed to those engaged in the vice to voluntarily come forward and pay back to society what they took away rather than parroting themselves as victims instead of waiting for prosecution.
President HICHILEMA also stated the need to address vices such as rate of divorces and suicide which have been on the increase.
MEANWHILE, President HICHILEMA is from addressing the National Youth Indaba at Mulungushi International Conference centre in Lusaka.
He took the occasion to pay a tribute to the youths for having voted for him enmasse during the August 2021 general election.
