HH TO HOLD TALKS WITH CHAKWERA

 

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA is in Malawi for a day to engage his counterpart LAZAROUS CHAKWERA.

The President left this morning from ZAF Lusaka base at 08:09 hours.

And State House Spokesperson ANTHONY BWALYA says the President’s trip is aimed at building and consolidating existing bilateral relations with Malawi.

Mr. BWALYA says the relations are key as they open up and build on existing channels of trade and investments.

He has told journalists in Lusaka that the trip is crucial to creating jobs and better income for Zambia and its people.

Mr. BWALYA said Zambia’s eight neigbouring countries with a combined population of about 3-hundred million is a very important market that needs to be exploited.

He said Malawi remains a partner to Zambia’s development.

And Mr. BWALYA said President HICHILEMA will continue to emphasis on travelling with a lean delegation for international engagements as part of cost saving measures.

He said all Presidential trips will only having a third of what used to constitute the previous administration’s travel delegation.

Mr. BWALYA said monies saved up can be channeled towards needy areas.

President HICHILEMA’s delegation includes Foreign and International Relations Minister STANLEY KAKUBO, Agriculture Minister REUBEN MUTOLO, Eastern Province Minister PETER PHIRI and Presidential Economic Advisor PAMELA NAKAMBA.
