HH set for Angola state visit

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has traveled to Angola for a two day state visit,at the invitation of the his Angolan counterpart JOÃO MANUEL GONÇALVES LOURENÇO.

Foreign Affairs and International Relations Minister STANLEY KAKUBO has comfirmed saying, President HICHILEMA will hold bilateral talks with President LOURENÇO which will focus on key issues of infrastructure development focusing on road, rail and air connectivity as well as energy.

Mr. KAKUBO says the two countries are also expected to sign Memoranda of Understanding which will include an agreement on infrastructure development.

The Foreign Affairs and International Relations Miniser says President HICHILEMA is also expected to address the Angolan National Assembly and travel to Benguela Province where he is will tour the Lobito Port, the Benguela Railway Company and the Lobito Petroleum Refinery.

Mr. KAKUBO says the three sites President HICHILEMA will tour critical infrastructure projects for both countries as they will contribute towards the free movement of goods and services between Zambia and Angola.

Mr. KAKUBO says the President’s continued engagements with key strategic partners such as Angola are part of Government’s ongoing initiatives to maximize bilateral relations with her neighbours in order to contribute towards rebuilding the country’s economy
creating jobs and improving people’s wellbeing.
