HH Pledges to repeal archaic laws

Masauso Mkwayaya-President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says his administration will continue to propose amendments of laws that are archaic and retrogressive to the development of the country.

President HICHILEMA says archaic laws such as the abolished death penalty subjected a number of innocent people to permanent punishment through death.

He says the abolishment of the death penalty promotes human rights.

President HICHILEMA adds that leaders must gather courage and do the right thing that promotes human dignity.

He said this at State House today when he hosted a special luncheon for stakeholders to celebrate the abolishment of the death penalty.
