HH expected on the Copperbelt Commission Projects

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA is tomorrow expected on the Copperbelt for a four day working visit.

Among the activities he is scheduled to attend is the groundbreaking for the dewatering of shaft 28 in Luanshya.

The president is also expected to commission a 60 megawatts solar power plant at Copperbelt Energy Corporation in Kitwe’s Itimpi area.

During the visit the President will commission the 31 Million United States dollars Chingola – Chililabombwe to Kasumbalesa road a development the area MP PAUL KABUSWE says will spur economic activities in the region.

Stakeholders in the Mining Sector have described the anticipated ground breaking for shaft 28 at Luanshya Copper mine as a relief.

Mines Suppliers and Contractors Association in Zambia President, COSTER MWABA said the development will bring hope and opportunities not only to the business community but the people of Luanshya as well.

Meanwhile Mineworkers Union of Zambia President JOSEPH CHEWE praised the government for its efforts aimed at revamping the mining sector on the Copperbelt.

Earlier, the National Union of Miners and Allied Workers NUMAW President SAUL SIMUJIKA said the four days  visit by the President on the Copperbelt signifies the government’s desire to revive the economy in the Province.

And, The Kitwe District Commissioner LAWRENCE MWANZA says the investments in alternative energy sources being recorded in the city is a clear testimony of President HICHILEMA’s sound economic policies.

He said the CEC Solar plant is a plus for the UPND Government as it will enhance job creation and spur economic activities amid the power deficit in the country.
