Heart to Heart with Chipyoka Songa; Talks facing tough defenders and his first Super League goal

Zambia U-20 winger Chipyoka Songa is in Europe attending trials at a Turkish side facilitated by his parent club, Shamuel Academy.

Chipyoka was the one positive about Lusaka Dynamos in the first half of the 2021/2022 Zambia Super League season which earned him trials at South African DSTV premiership side, Cape Town City.

Songa joined Elite Lusaka Dynamos in November 2020 from Shamuel. The 17-year-old nearly joined Buildcon but the deal fell through.

The ZamFoot Crew caught up with the youngster to discuss his life at Lusaka Dynamos in the elite Zambian league.

Songa opened his Super League goal account for Lusaka Dynamos on 26th November in the 1-1 draw with Chambishi.

“It’s not easy at a young age but with the help of the senior players, hard work and the confidence they gave me I improved each day through training,” he said.

“I had always wanted to score I dreamed of that so when I scored it came as a positive sign for me to want it again and work hard .that was amazing,” he added.

Songa picked out Luka Chamanga, Field Kandela and Fackson Kapumbu as the three toughest players he faced in the Super League.

Shonga went on to pick his debut game in the Super League against Nkwazi as his favorite together with the away game against Forest Rangers.

“Fackson Kapumbu in the charity shield final and Field Kandela when we played against Kabwe warriors in Kabwe. Last but not the least Luka Chamanga in the Power dynamos vs Lusaka dynamos at Arthur Davies Stadium.

Actually, I have two of my favorite game I played in the super league first one being my first game in the super league Lusaka dynamos vs Nkwazi FC at Edwin Imboela Stadium then my second game we played against forest rangers at Levy Mwanawasa stadium.”

Songa is looking to a positive future and puts everything in the hands of God.

“I always pray and believe to God that he holds me what’s Good in future so am ready to challenge my future me.”

Songa was part of coach Oswald Mutupa’s 2019 COSAFA U-17 Championship winning squad.
