HAIMBE CALLS FOR MORE EDUCATION ON RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS

Justice Minister MALAMBO HAIMBE has called for enhanced sensitization and education on matters of human rights and freedoms among Zambians.

Mr. HAIMBE says sensitizing and educating citizens on human rights will help to improve understanding and appreciation of fundamental rights.

He says Government remains committed to promoting Human rights and freedoms for citizens.

Mr. HAIMBE spoke during the commemoration of the human rights day in Lusaka this morning.

And United Nations Resident Coordinator BEATRICE MUTALI said standing up for universal human rights can help advance sustainable development, prevent violence and sustain peace.

Meanwhile European Union Ambassador to Zambia JACEK JANKOWSKI said the EU stands with Zambia towards promoting Human rights amidst cases of Human rights violation and abuse across the globe.
