Govt will not entertain threats on church-Matambo

Musenge Mulimba-Government says it will NOT entertain caderism and threats on the church.

Copperbelt Province Minister ELISHA MATAMBO says the church must be given the respect and integrity it deserves as it plays a huge role in the governance of the country.

Mr MATAMBO was speaking during a Christian Brethren Copperbelt Mission fundraising conference in Kitwe, where the church is looking to raise Four million kwacha to build a house for the church missionaries in Kalulushi.

He said government will also continue to support the church and its various projects.

And Copperbelt Province Christian Brethren Executive Committee Vice Secretary GIFT MUWIKA has assured the new dawn government of the church’s support and respect as it governs the country in the next five years.

Mr MUWIKA also thanked government for upholding Zambia as a Christian nation and maintaining the national prayer and fasting day..

Meanwhile, Chifubu Member of Parliament LLOYD LUBOSHA had urged the church to utilise the increased constituency development fund as they are also part of the community.

And Kitwe District Commissioner, LAWRENCE MWANZA has called on the Church to guide government as it looks to develop the country.
