“Govt will Continue to deliver on its promises”

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says his government will continue to deliver on its promises, and not listen to political rhetoric.

President HICHILEMA explained that the Zambian people are intelligent and know that the government is delivering on its promises.

The President said this when he addressed residents of Mongu, Western province, who welcomed him in the district, ahead of the Kuomboka traditional ceremony on Saturday.

He said that government will NOT be side-tracked by those who want to politicise every development effort.

President HICHILEMA has explained that there are a lot of developmental needs, which his government is attending to, therefore his focus is on delivering on his promises.

He cited some of the things, which government has already delivered as the free education policy, schools construction and desks delivery, as well as the increase in Constituency Development Funds -CDF-.

And, President HICHILEMA has reiterated that government respects all traditional leaders in the country, because they are very important to the agenda of national unity.

The Head of State has also urged the youths not to be used to cause chaos and disharmony.

Western Province Minister, KAPELWA MBANGWETA said the people of the region are behind government and President HICHILEMA.

Mr. MBANGWETA explained that the province also appreciates the developments which government has undertaken.

Infrastructure Development Minister, CHARLES MILUPI noted that construction of public infrastructure will be done in parts of the country.

Mr MILUPI has explained that in Western province, the much talked about Watopa-Katunda road will be tarred, adding that the procurement process has already started.

Meanwhile, UPND Deputy Secretary General, GETRUDE IMENDA, has advised members to defend President HICHILEMA from people who are working hard to tarnish his image.

And Mongu Mayor, NYAMBE MUYUMBANA, said the Mongu municipal has given President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA the status of a free man of the city.

Mr. MUYUMBANA said the decision was unanimously passed during a full council meeting, a few days ago.

Meanwhile, one of the farmers in Western Province, a Mr. KASHWEKA, has donated two animals to President HICHILEMA as a show of appreciation to his exemplary leadership.
