GOVT TO SECURE FUNDS FOR CHIBALE-LUALUZI ROAD

Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development Minister CHARLES MILUPI says Government will endeavor to secure funds to ensure that the 40 kilometers Chibale- Lualuzi road in Muchinga Province is completed.

Mr MILUPI says his ministry will engage relevant stakeholders to ensure that the required short term interventions are implemented on crossing points to avert Chibale from being cut off.

In a Ministerial statement presented to National Assembly today, Mr. MILUPI said his office is aware that the three crossing points on the Chibale -Lualuzi road in Chama North Constituency are in urgent need of attention.

He said the project is being executed by Tomorrow Investment at about 68 Million kwacha.

And Mr. MILUPI said the available funds to the road sector annual work plan remain inadequate to meet the commitments entered into by the previous Government.

He however said that his ministry remains committed to bring sustainability in the sector which will be achieved through various means among them is the re-scoping of some projects that cannot be sustained by Government.
