GOVT TO MIGRATE FROM INDIAN MARK TWO WATER PUMPS

By Patricia Banda:Government says it will start migrating slowly from the use of Indian mark two water pumps.Ministry of Water and Sanitation Permanent Secretary Ed Chomba says Government wants to replace them with water scheme systems that has taps in rural areas.Bishop Chomba says the water schemes system has network that can supply to more than two villages.Bishop Chomba told ZNBC News in an interview that a network will help women not to walk long distances from water points.Bishop Chomba is happy that stakeholders in the sector such as World Vision have started putting up new water system in Mumbwa district.And World Vision in Mumbwa District have put up a new mechanized water system at a cost of over two hundred thousand kwacha.World Vision Mumbwa , Development facilitator Water and Sanitation Brian Chisebe said over 10 Thousand people are benefitting from a new mechanized water system in Nakanjori area that was installed in 2018.Mr. Chisebe said this includes a schools, Nakanjori rural health centre and the community .
