GOVT TO EXPAND INTENSIVE CARE SPACE

By Patricia Banda- Government says it will expand intensive care space with an addition of 15 beds earmarked for Lusaka Specialist Hospital.

Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary Technical services KENNEDY MALAMA says this is because the country continues to record high number of Covid-19 critically ill patients.

Dr MALAMA has however expressed optimism that the Covid 19 Situation in the country will be brought under control.

And Dr MALAMA has announced that the country has in the last 24 hours recorded One thousand Nine hundred and 49 Covid 19 positive cases out of 8 thousand 4 hundred and 73 tests conducted.

He said 64 new Covid 19 related deaths have also been recorded.

This is contained in a statement to ZNBC news in Lusaka today.
