GOVT TO ADDRESS STUDENTS’ WELFARE

Government says it will create a project Resolution Committee that will spearhead the plans to address student welfare at Evelyn Hone College.

Science and Technology Minister FELIX MUTATI says the current state of Zambia’s largest College is a source of concern as it has limited facilities and equipment to sustain its population of over 10-thousand students.

Mr. MUTATI, who toured the institution, said there are a number of issues that need to be addressed through the creation of the Committee.

He said he efforts made by the committee will go towards maintaining the institutions status as the country’s largest tertiary institution.

And Evelyn Hone College, Principal CEPHAS CHABU said the institution has undertaken plans to implement major reforms that will help to market and raise the institutions status.

Mr. CHABU said the institution is also looking to strengthen various programs and introduce platforms for the civil service.
