GOVT INCREASES SCT BENEFICIARIES IN NDOLA- MULENGA

(ZANIS) The Ministry of Community Development and Social Services has increased the number of beneficiaries on Social Cash Transfer in Ndola from nine thousand to fifteen thousand six hundred and forty-two.

Community Development Minister Kampamba Mulenga says this is to enable more vulnerable people to benefit from the fund.

Ms. Mulenga said government realises the challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on many families who have lost jobs through retrenchments due to Covid-19.

She said the government wants to lighten the burden that vulnerable households may be faced with by giving them relief through the Social Cash Transfer Emergency Fund.

Ms. Mulenga was speaking in Ndola’s Pamodzi Township where she launched the distribution of the fund to over 900 beneficiaries.

And Chifubu Member of Parliament Frank Ng’ambi has thanked government for coming to the aid of the vulnerable families in his constituency.

He said the fund has come at the right time when most families are not able to provide for their children.
