Cabinet says it will take advantage of the Extended Credit Facility Programme by the International Monetary Fund -IMF- Executive Board to get the economy back on its developmental path.

Chief Government Spokesperson CHUSHI KASANDA says this is one of the decisions that Cabinet made yesterday at its 19th meeting chaired by President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA.

Ms. KASANDA has told ZNBC news in a statement that Cabinet further expressed the need to dismantle the huge Government external and domestic debts inherited from the previous regime.

She said the debts have remained a serious burden on the general living standards of Zambians.

Ms. KASANDA said cabinet has also approved Board Members for the Zambia Tourism Agency, Zambia Airports Corporation, Civil Aviation Authority, the Aircrafts Accidents and Incidents Board, The National Biosafety Authority and Governing Council of the Zambia Institute for Tourism and Hospitality Studies.

She said cabinet also approved for publication and introduction in Parliament during the next sitting, a Bill entitled “The Zambia Institute of Secretaries Bill, 2022.”

Ms. KASANDA who is also Information and Media Minister said the objectives of the Bill include among others, the continued existence of the Professional Secretaries Association of Zambia and re-name it as the Zambia Institute of Secretaries and re-define its functions.

Cabinet has further approved for publication and introduction in Parliament during the next sitting, a Bill entitled “The Zambia Qualifications Authority (Repeal) Bill, 2022.”

The objectives of the Bill include the continued existence of the Zambia Qualifications Authority and re-define its functions.
