GOVT BUYS 500 DESKS AND COMPUTERS FOR NDOLA SCHOOLS

By Lillian Kalaba

Government has bought about 500 desks and computers for pupils in five combined schools in Ndola on the Copperbelt.

Ndola Central Member of Parliament FRANK TAYALI, who is also Transport and Communications Minister, says the desks and computers have been bought at a cost of one million Kwacha.

The Ndola central law maker also disbursed 1.4 million Kwacha under the Constituency Development Fund-CDF- grants to various youths and women Co-operatives.

Mr. TAYALI said the consistent flow of CDF to all parts of the country and free education policy is symbolic of how the nation’s resources should be distributed to enhance National development.

Meanwhile Ndola District Commissioner JOSEPH PHIRI said government is eager to change the standard of living for vulnerable Zambians through CDF.

And Ndola Mayor JONES KALYATI said government is walking the talk because it is clear CDF will spur economic development.

And speaking at the same function Ndola Central Constituency Development Committee chairperson NGOSA PAUL said residents in the area are hungry for development and empowerment.
