GOLD BLEND WHISKEY DISTRIBUTION SUSPENDED

Suppliers of GOLD BLEND whiskey have been directed to stop distributing the product following reports of deaths attributed to its consumption.

Zambia Compulsory Standards Agency says this is until investigations in the reported deaths are concluded.

This comes after three people died in Mumbwa and Mwansabombwe upon allegedly consuming the alcohol.

Zambia Compulsory Standards Agency Communications Officer, CAROLINE KALOMBE has confirmed this in a statement, saying investigations have been instituted into the deaths.

Ms KALOMBE says the investigations, which are aimed at ascertaining the safety of the product, are in line with the agency’s mandate.

Police are investigating two cases in Mumbwa and one case in Mwansabombwe where people died after consuming suspected counterfeit alcohol.
