FUMBA:Chikuni Tonga Music Festival Needs Replication

By Lucky Phiri

Government says initiatives like the Chikuni Tonga Music Festival should be replicated countrywide.

Ministry of Arts Permanent Secretary CHAMA FUMBA says music festivals are key in upholding the Zambian cultural heritage.

Mr. FUMBA says the initiatives also help to tap talent from young people in rural areas.

He has appealed to stakeholders to support the Music Festival slated for August 24th and 25th in Monze District Southern Province.

The Permanent Secretary said this during the Chikuni Tonga Music Festival Gala Dinner last night in Lusaka.

And Mr. FUMBA says supporting the event gives an opportunity to tap talent among youths in rural area to get exposed.

Meanwhile, Chikuni Radio Managing Director VINCENT NCHIMUNYA says about 3-hundred thousand Kwacha is needed to successfully host this year’s event.

Father NCHIMUNYA says this year’s music festival is special as it marks the two decades of dedication towards the event.
