Full shift for Mwepu in difficult Man City clash…Daka plays last 12 minutes for Leicester City

Zambian duo of striker Patson Daka and midfielder Enock Mwepu were involved as their teams in the English Premier League.

With Yves Bissouma suspended, the Zambian international partnered Moises Caicedo and Pascal Gross in the middle of the park.

It was always going to be a tough ask for the Seagulls despite recording back to back wins against Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur prior to the match.

Having kept City at bay for 55 minutes, Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva struck for Pep Guardiola’s men to seal a 3-0 win for the Citizens.

Mwepu put in a full shift with a 75 percent pass rate.

At Goodison Park, Patson Daka was a second half substitute for Leicester City.

Daka came on to replace Kelechi Iheanacho with a little more than 10 minutes to go.

The Zambian international made an immediate impact as he set up Maddison, who twisted and turned, but struck the side-netting after jinking past Vitalii Mykolenko.

The Kafue native was looking to make an impact and was twice fouled by Mina, with one challenge earning the Colombian a booking in the 80th minute.

The Foxes defensive work was undone in the second minute of injury time as Richarlison cancelled out Harvey Barnes’ fifth-minute strike in a 1-1 Premier League draw with Everton on Wednesday night.

Next up for Daka and Brendan Rogers’ men is Aston Villa who are visiting King Power Stadium on Saturday in the Premier League ahead of a UEFA Europa Conference League Semi-Final first leg encounter with Roma five days later.
