FT: MOROCCO 1-1 ZAMBIA

By Robert Mwanza:

The Zambia Women National Football Team last night came from a goal down to force a one all stalemate with Morocco in an international friendly match played in that country.

Zambia’s MISOZI ZULU’s 62nd minute own goal looked like Morocco had sealed it, however, the Shepolopolo responded with GRACE CHANDA’s scrappy effort  in the 77th minute to level the scores.

This was after coach BRUCE MWAPE made some changes that saw AVELL CHITUNDU replacing  NATASHA NANYANGWE, IREEN LUNGU leaving room for captain BARBARA BANDA with MAWETA CHILENGA also taking EVARINE KATONGO’S place.

With Zambian students based in Morocco giving nonstop support  to the women from the stands, the changes to the team paid off immediately and Zambia had another opportunity to wrap it up but captain of the side Barbara’s effort was skied.

Both teams were using the match to prepare for the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations to be held in Morocco from July 2nd to 23rd.
