Former FC Porto Zambian defender joins TP Mazembe

Zambia national team left-back Emmanuel Mbola has joined DR Congo giants TP Mazembe, The Lubumbashi based club has announced.

Mbola has signed a one year deal with an option to extend the contract. The former FC Porto defender returns to Kamalondo eight years after leaving.

Mbola first joined TP Mazembe back in 2010 before leaving to join FC Porto on loan in 2012 and later Hapoel Ra’anana and Bnei Sakhnin in Isreal.

Mbola becomes the fifth Zambia national team player to be on the books of the Ravens at the moment. The other four are defender Kabaso Chongo and Tandi Mwape, Midfielder Nathan Sinkala, and captain of the side Rainford ‘The Master’ Kalaba.

The arrival of Mbola in Kamalondo was announced together with the acquisition of Ivorian left-winger Wonlo Coulibaly. The 27-year-old has penned a five-year deal.
