By PATRICA MAPIKI

A former drug addict has advised youths not to take drugs but look out for many empowerment programmes being implemented by Government.

MARIAN AKUFFO, a National Coordinator for Tithandizane Comfort Home in Lusaka, says drugs are not good for young people as they ruinĀ  lives.

Ms. AKUFFO says she is raising awareness against drugs because of the experience that she went through when she was incarcerated for possession of drugs.

She was speaking to ZNBC News when her organisation and Mika Group of Companies donated various food stuffs at the Lusaka Central Correctional Facility yesterday.

And Ms. AKUFFO said her organisation is advocating for the well-being of incarcerated pregnant women and those with children in correctional facilities.

Meanwhile, Mika Group of Companies General Manager BRIDGET SIKANA said the partnership with Tithandizane Comfort Home is aimed at complimenting government efforts in addressing some challenges in correctional facilities.
