Forest Rangers break into top four as Zesco and Napsa maintain top two slots

Forest Rangers beat Lusaka dynamos to break into the top four while Zesco United and Napsa Stars maintained their places at the summit.

The MTN/FAZ Super League entered week 14 of action this weekend with eight mouthwatering matches taking place around the country.

Zesco United whose ten matches unbeaten run came to an end last weekend after losing 1-0 to Nkana welcomed KYSA looking to make a quick return to winning ways.

And as expected the defending Champions were miles ahead of relegation-threatened KYSA with rejuvenated striker Winston Kalengo netting a brace and Quadri Kola adding a goal late in additional time to seal a 3-0 win.

In Lusaka four matches kicked off at the same time as Napsa Stars hosted Lumwana Radiants, Lusaka dynamos welcomed Forest Rangers, Green Buffaloes locked horns with Nakambala Leopards as Red Arrows played host to Buildcon.

At Woodlands Stadium, Napsa Stars continued their good run as they beat Lumwana 2-1 thanks to goals from midfield ace Collins Sikombe and Bornwell Mwape. Musonda Siame scored Lumwana’s lone goal.

At Nkoloma Stadium, Red Arrows slump continued as they went down to Buildcon two goals to one. Benyamen Nenkavu scored either side of halftime to give Team Kopala a 2-0 lead. Francis Simwanza scored late in the second half but his goal was not enough as Arrows succumbed to their 3rd defeat in six games.

At the National Heroes Stadium, Laurent Muma’s strike at the death of the first half was all Forest Rangers needed to beat Lusaka dynamos 1-0.

The win moves Fole Malembe to third place and was the first game with Tenant Chilumba sitting on the bench after being appointed as head coach of the Ndola based outfit.

Kansanshi Dynamos woes have continued to deepen as they suffered yet another defeat losing 1-0 to Kabwe Warriors at home.

Meanwhile, Coach Albert Mphande started off his reign as Nakambala Leopards coach on a high recording a well deserved one-nil win over Green Buffaloes away at Edwin Imboela Stadium

Sensational Zanaco played out to a one-all draw with Mighty Mufulira Wanderers while Green Eagles and Nkwazi played to a barren draw.
