Financial crimes to be concluded in five months

By Hannock Kasama

Chief Justice MUMBA MALILA has enforced a statutory instrument to effect prosecution of Financial Crimes within five months.

The Chief Justice has issued the enforcement order today.

Dr. MALILA says the measure will ensure that those charged with cases of Financial Crimes undergo speedy trial to clear their names.

He said this in LUSAKA today during the call day of 43 new law graduates from the Zambia Institute of Advanced Legal Education –ZIALE- admitted to the bar.

Dr. MALILA urged the new advocates to defend the tenets of the legal profession.

And Law Association of Zambia –LAZ- President LUNGISANI ZULU called on new advocates to play a part in the country’s quest to address economic challenges.

Meanwhile, ZIALE Acting Director LEAH NGULUBE disclosed that 43 out of 503 Legal Learners Practitioners cleared the 2023 Examinations, representing eight percent pass rate.
