FFTUZ calls on UPND to strengthen bursary system

Reuben Chomba-Federation of Free Trade Unions of Zambia -FFTUZ- has called on the New UPND government to design and strengthen the education bursary system.

FFTUZ President CHINGATI MSISKA says the education sector needs a system that is more transparent and efficient.

Mr. MSISKA has also called on the new government to enhance youth empowerment programmes that are sustainable.

Speaking during a media briefing in Lusaka , Mr. MSISKA further urged President-elect HAKAINDE HICHILEMA to provide an enabling environment for the operations of labour movement.

He said the UPND must also ensure that freedom of association, assembly and speech are upheld.

Mr. MSISKA said the federation remains committed to working with the UNPD government to improve conditions of service for civil servants.

He further added that the Federation is confident that the Zambia’s social and economic development will be enhanced.
