FEW YOUTHS APPLYING FOR FUEL TANKER PROGRAMME

The Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts is saddened by the low number of applications from youth cooperatives for the Fuel Tankers under the youth empowerment programme.

Director of Youth in the department of Youth and Development DAVIES MUUNGA says the situation has caused a delay in the distribution of the fuel tankers.

Mr. MUUNGA explains that the number of applications received so far is below what is stipulated in the guidelines to start distribution.

He spoke in Choma when he led officials from his ministry in paying a courtesy call on Southern Province Deputy Permanent Secretary YOLANTA MUTYAMBE.

Earlier Ms. MUTYAMBE appealed to the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts to expedite the allocation of the fuel tankers.

She added that youths in the province, many of whom have already formed cooperatives, are anxiously waiting for the fuel tankers.
