The 2020/21 FAZ Women’s Super League this weekend enters week 2 of action which promises to be a cracker and expectations are higher than Week 1 because teams now have a clue interms of what type of opponents they will be facing and also what the league has in store for them.

A total of five games will be played tomorrow Saturday, March 27, 2021, while two games are slated for Sunday in Lusaka.

Saturday – March 27, 2021

10:00hrs – Red Arrows WFC – BUSA Queens

At Lusaka’s Nkoloma Stadium, log leaders Red Arrows Women Football Club will welcome BUSA Queens in what looks like an intriguing encounter between two sides who always give each other a good run for their money.

However, having lost in the first game BUSA will aim to redeem themselves in this match but coming up against the highly fancied Air Ladies side it will be a hard nut to crack but in this game, anything can happen.

10:00hrs – Green Buffaloes WFC Vs Mufulira Wanderers WFC

FAZ Women’s League seasonal campaigners Green Buffaloes Women Football Club will be at home at the Green Square Stadium in Arakan playing host to Mufulira Wanderers Women Football Club in their Match Week 2 encounter.

Green Buffaloes look set to collect maximum points after their hard-fought 2-nil victory over Zesco Ndola Girls last weekend but coming up against a highly confident Mighty side that edged Nkana Queens 2-1 will be a tricky tie for the Coach Charles Haalubono drilled lasses who will have to prove their worth as each team they face will always aim to give them a good run for their money looking at the status they have in Women’s football.

10:00hrs – Lusaka Dynamos Ladies FC Vs Queens Academy

Lusaka Dynamos Ladies FC will welcome bottom-placed Queen’s Academy at Queensmead Stadium looking to continue from where they left off last weekend when they edged Nkwazi Queens 2-0 away at Imboela Stadium.

However, Elite Ladies captain Martha Ng’uni has urged her teammates to take each game seriously with the respect it deserves.

Speaking in an interview with the ZamFoot Crew, Ng’uni said that they are ready for the game and they won’t underate any team in the league.

“We are not here to underrate any team, we will play the game to fight for a maximum of 3 points because in this game we have to strike very hard. The league is professional and it will be watched by many teams so we will work hard so to showcase our skill maybe we might be called in the National Team,” Martha Ng’uni said.

On the other hand, Queens Academy who arrived in Lusaka on Thursday from their base in Kabwe has also predicted a tough match and Defender Sante Mutukwa said they are ready to fight tomorrow.

“We are ready for the game and we are going to fight until the end, it won’t be easy but we believe we can do it,” Mukutwa said.

15:00hrs – Indeni Roses – Police Dove Queens

Copperbelt giants Indeni Roses will welcome Police Doves Queens from North-Western Province at Indeni Sports Complex in a game. The Roses are the clear favorites on paper looking at the vast experience they have in the Women’s League while Police Doves will aim to upset the tables.

The ZamFoot Crew spoke to Police Doves Assistant Coach Richard Kayelu who has predicted a tough encounter against Indeni but he says his lasses are well prepared and ready for the game.

“It’s a tough game against Indeni because they have been in the Women’s league for a long time now and they have so much experience compared to us but as the Fearless Girls we are not intimidated by the name they have but we shall fight,” Kayelu said.

“We have the quality to face them and we are going to play our normal game because we are very much ready and prepared for tomorrow’s game.”

15:00hrs – Nkana Queens – National Assembly

Nkana Queens will be at Nkana Stadium taking on National Assembly in another exciting encounter.

The Wusakile Ladies will be going into this match with heads high after a disappointing 2-1 loss last weekend at the hands of Mufulira Wanderers Women Football Club while The Parliamentarians will want to make it up for their frustrating 1-1 draw against ZISD and they have declared themselves ready for tomorrow’s game which will kick-off at 15:00hrs.

Sunday – March 28, 2021

12:30 hrs – ZISD Vs Nkwazi Queens.

After a disappointing 2-0 loss at the hands of Lusaka Dynamos, Nkwazi Queens will take a short trip to Independence Stadium where they will take on new ladies in town ZISD who held National Assembly to a 1-1 draw last weekend.

The Police Sponsored side will be aiming to take the game to ZISD who will also be bubbling with confidence as they have seemed to be one of the surprising packages in the league but Nkwazi might just use their experience to collect maximum points but it won’t be an easy game.

ZISD new acquisition from Red Arrows who is on a 2-year long loan deal Veronica Mashuko has described the league as tough but they are not here to participate but to compete.

“This league is very tough because there is a lot of competition that can lead to exposure. So as a team we shall try to be aggressive and do our best in all possible ways we can especially as a new team,” Veronica Mashuko said.

15:00hrs – YASA Queens Vs Zesco Ndola Girls.

All roads in Lusaka will on Sunday afternoon lead to kalingalinga’s Hospice Ground as Stubborn YASA Queens welcome Zesco Ndola Girls in a super Sunday Clash that arguably promises to be a mouthwatering encounter between two ambitious teams.

YASA Queens will be fighting to extend their impressive form while it will be redemption time for Zegalicious who succumbed to a 2-nil loss at the hands of Green Buffaloes.

This will be the first-ever meeting between these two sides that look set to challenge each other but it will all depend on what will happen on match day.
