FAZ Provincial D1:Top two lose as Young NAPSA move up to second place

The Lusaka Province FAZ Division week 26 action saw leaders Young Green Buffaloes go down to Kalilo and Young Napsa leapfrogging Misisi into second place on the table.

Young Napsa Stars who started the season poorly have somehow turned their fortunes around as they sit second on the table with 40 points, just 2 behind leaders Young Green Buffaloes. This comes after their 1-0 win over Misisi Youth Academy.

Kenan Phiri scored the whole important goal of the match that guided the young pensioners to overthrow Misisi from second place on the log.

At Barcelona Academy, Athletico Lusaka walked away with all three points with a narrow 3-2 win over Irwin Rangers with the talented Joseph Sabobo Banda scoring his 10th goal of the season. The Athletico Lusaka technical bench should have something to worry about with their team’s defense and goalkeeping department looking at the rate at which they conceding goals as they have scored 27 goals and allowed 26 from their last 21 matches.

Elsewhere, Young Green Buffaloes’ began their journey on at their new home ground, Arakan’s Green Square pitch on a disappointing note as they received a 1-0 beating at the hands of Kalilo Celtic. A win for Buffaloes could have seen them take a 5 point lead at the summit. Despite the defeat, Young Green Buffaloes are still on top while Kalilo Celtic are on position number 15 and are unbeaten in their last 5 league matches. Davy Zulu scored the only goal of the match.

In other matches, Chongwe United and Kabwata Dynamos are settling well in the relegation zone as both teams lost 2-1 and 1-0 to Paramilitary and Vector respectively. At Chakunkula Ground in Chelstone, Airport Warriors and Young Zanaco settled for a goalless draw the similar result that was recorded between Lusaka City Council and Shamuel.

After going 5 games without a win, Sable Bulls have now gone on to record 2 straight wins. In a week 26 match, a 2-0 win over Riflemen saw them move 14th position on the log.

At Roma Ground, Chainda Bombers added another defeat to Happy Hearts’ growing list as they have now gone failed to pick up a single point in their last 3 games. 3-1, it ended with Potiphar Soko being the hero as he scored a brace for the Chainda Bombers side.
