FAZ KICKS OFF PROVINCIAL U15&17 TRIALS…as FAZ Gets Morocco U15 Invite 

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has dispatched selected independent youth football selectors to all the 10 provinces to conduct trials for the upcoming Double Confrontation (2009) Morocco Invitational Tournament.

Only participants born in 2008 and 2009 will be eligible for selection. The players born 2009 will compete at Talent Development Scheme (TDS) Morocco Invitation tournament while the 2008 (and 2009) bracket will be for COSAFA U17 Zonal Afcon Qualifier as prescribed by the tournament regulations.

FAZ General Secretary Reuben Kamanga saw off the selectors that comprise a mix of former internationals and youth football trained coaches.

Among them are former internationals William Njobvu, Buchizya Mfune, Francis Kombe, Brian Lubaba, Lawrence Lubinda, Cosmas Kabaza and Owen Kaposa.

Others are Paul Simwengwa, Mortson Kasoma, Moomba Ng’andu, Aaron Kawangu, Dickson Chungu and Matambo Lukanda.

Kamanga says the selectors will work with provincial technical coordinators and youth representatives.

Successful candidates will converge in Lusaka for national assessment which will culminate in the selection of the final team.

The project will be overseen by the FAZ Technical Director Lyson Zulu who will be helped by Youth Development Officer Clifford Mulenga and Coach Education Officer Chris Chibuye.
