Fashion Sakala’s five star performance earns Manager’s praise…as Chipolopolo man in-line for Champions League starting berth against Liverpool

Scottish based Zambian forward Fashion Sakala produced a man-of-match performance in Glasgow Rangers’ 4-0 win over St. Mirren in the Scottish Premiership.

Sakala, who was exceptional on the afternoon chipped-in with a goal and an assist to help Rangers to an emphatic win.

Speaking after the match, Rangers’ manager, Gio van Bronckhorst was full of praise for Sakala.

“I’m really happy with Fashion because the more options I have, the better it is for me. He came on in midweek at Anfield and did well so we wanted to give him a chance,” Gio remarked.

“I thought he was really good and did what we expected. We’re now able to use the speed we have up front. It makes it so much easier when we have strength in depth in attack.”

Gio further went on to dispel any transfer speculations linking Sakala with an Ibrox exit.

“I never wanted Fashion to leave in the summer, it was never my intention to let him go.

He was talking about his future, like all the players, but it was never my intention to let him go,” explained the Dutch gaffer.

The former Barcelona and Arsenal man further went on to hint that Sakala might start against Liverpool on Wednesday in the Champions League.

“A lot of players showed with their performances today that they want to play on Wednesday.”

These assurances coming from the manager’s lips will come as a huge confidence boost for Fashion Sakala.
