Fashion Sakala impresses in Glasgow Rangers’ emphatic 4-0 win

Chipolopolo forward Fashion Sakala put-in a good ninety minutes shift in Glasgow Rangers’ four-nil win at St. Mirren in the SPL.

Despite not registering a goal, Sakala worked hard and showed his versatility starting with wide role on the right wing (first half) then switching to the left wing (second half).

Rangers opened the scores as early as the second minute when Kemar Roofe headed in a cross from Kent.

Following a dominant display, Roofe scored another header deep in added time for Rangers to carry a 2-0 lead at the break.

Sakala comes alive in the second-half

Five minutes after the restart, Sakala was involved in the build up for the third goal when he combined well with Nigerian international, Joe Aribo on the left before playing a cross to Roofe. The Jamaican then took two touches before scoring to complete his hat-trick.

Seven minutes later, Sakala received the ball from Aribo on the left only to see his well struck low left footed shot from a tight angle come off the post.

In the 70th minute, Sakala could have had an assist when he set up Amad Diallo after a quick break on the left. But the Manchester United loanee shot wide with the goal at his mercy.

Rangers then scored a fourth courtesy of Joe Aribo’s sublime long range curled effort into the top left-corner with twenty minutes of normal time to play.

The hosts had several chances to score a consolation goal. However, Rangers held on for an emphatic win and clean sheet.

Next for Rangers is UEFA Europa League second-leg action against Portuguese outfit, Sporting Braga (who the trail by a 1-0 from the first-leg) at the Ibrox on Thursday.
