Fashion applauds team work

The U23 national team recorded a hard-fought 2-1 win over Congo Brazzaville on Wednesday evening at the National Heroes Stadium courtesy of a Fashion Sakala brace.

Both teams showed the desire to score an early Goal characterized with a lot of chances. Zambia was the first to score thanks to Belgium based Striker Fashion Sakala putting the home team ahead seven minutes of the match an advantage they took heading into half time .An early second second-half strike by Jacques Temopele leveled matters within the first minutes of the second half. Few minutes to the end of the match beautiful interchange of passes were displayed between Enock Mwepu and Harrison Chisala in midfield to set up Fashion who dribbled past one defender before slotting in the winning goal from close range granting Zambia a home win.

The brace hero, Fashion gave credit to his whole team for the hard work and determination put into recording the win.

“It was a tightly fought match as Congo were a tough opponent, We Thank God for the sweet victory and as a team, these, are results of determination, hard work, and teamwork, ” Fashion told the ZamFoot Crew.

Fashion remained positive despite a number of missed chances and said his main focus was on how to make the chances count in the next game.

“As a Player, I have to be Positive especially after a tight game like this one, The missed chances are something I shouldn’t think of that much but rather work on how to make them count. We know the Zambian Fan expectations and thus we shall deliver accordingly,” he said.

Zambia will now travel for the return leg will in Pointe Noire slated for September 8. The winner over two legs will qualify to the 2019 AFCON that will be hosted by Egypt in November.

The top three teams at the tournament will qualify to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
